This beautifully hand-crafted Christening Hat is designed for baby to wear home from the hospital, or on Christening Day and then disassembled to be used as a special handkerchief on his or her wedding day. The bride can carry the hankie as "something old" or the groom can present his bride with a lovely "something borrowed"! Makes a wonderful sentimental gift for expectant or new parents. You can use this item as is or add personalization with machine embroidery.

This style Bonnet is hand made from our Traditional Lace Handkerchief, with ribbon joined to the bonnet by a lovely floret (see inset picture). Designed to be, with a few clips, a handkerchief for baby's wedding day once she (or he) is all grown up.

Comes gift boxed with a card containing the following poem written in script:

I am a little bonnet
as cute as cute can be.
Would you ever guess a
hanky I used to be?
I can be worn home
from the hospital,
Then again on Christening Day.
You can then neatly fold
me and keep me for the Wedding Day.
Every bride must wear
something old - so you can
clip a stitch or two and
a wedding hanky will unfold.
If by chance it is a boy.
on the day he is wed,
I can be presented to his bride
won't she be proud to use -
